Global Korean Studies

Kyungsung University

Global Korean Studies at Kyungsung University is a unique and fascinating English-medium undergraduate program that offers international students an in-depth exploration of Korean language, history, culture, society, and contemporary affairs. For Nepali students who are passionate about Korea's rich heritage, K-culture, K-pop, Korean cinema, and the growing global influence of South Korea, this program provides the perfect academic foundation.

Located in Busan — one of South Korea's most culturally rich and historically significant cities — students in this program are immersed in Korean culture both inside and outside the classroom. From ancient Korean history and Confucian philosophy to modern K-pop culture and Korean diplomatic relations, the curriculum covers the full spectrum of what makes Korea one of the world's most fascinating nations.

The program is delivered entirely in English, making it fully accessible to Nepali students from day one. As students progress through the program, they also develop strong Korean language skills, which significantly enhances their career prospects in Korea and internationally.

The scholarship system at Kyungsung is highly accessible for this program. Students without an IELTS score are still eligible for a 30% scholarship from the first semester. Those with IELTS 7.0 receive 40%, and students with IELTS 7.5 receive 50% scholarship at admission. From the second semester onward, scholarships can grow up to 100% based on GPA — making this program increasingly affordable as students excel academically.

With over 1,000 Nepali graduates already at Kyungsung University, students joining Global Korean Studies become part of a vibrant and well-established Nepali community. Senior students and alumni are always on hand to offer guidance, support, and friendship throughout your time in Korea.

Graduates of Global Korean Studies pursue diverse and rewarding career paths including Korean language teaching, translation and interpretation, cultural diplomacy, tourism and travel, media and journalism, international organizations, and Korean government and embassy roles. As Korea's global influence continues to grow, professionals with deep knowledge of Korean culture and language are increasingly in demand worldwide.

This program is available under the D-2 Student Visa. Nepali students with a minimum +2 or equivalent qualification with 50% marks are eligible to apply. IELTS is optional — not required for admission — making this one of the most accessible and culturally enriching programs available to Nepali students in South Korea.
